Cross-industry studies have shown that when an employee in any company:

  • knows and understands the tasks that are part of his or her job
  • feels like he or she is part of a team, and
  • feels like there is a friend or trusted person they can turn to with questions,

that employee is both more productive, more satisfied with the job, and more likely to stay with that company.

At Hogan, we want our employees more productive, more satisfied, and definitely want them to stay around!

To that end, we have implemented our Mentor Program. It’s purpose is to help each new-hire get up to speed more quickly, more safely, and feel like they are positively contributing. During a trial run with the program, the participants felt quite positive about it's impact on their job performance.

In the program, each job site will have one or two mentors chosen for what we believe will be their ability to connect with one or two new-hires assigned to them. The mentor and the new-hire will meet briefly each morning for the first fifteen days of the new-hire’s employment and go over a quick check list to help the new-hire settle into this new job.

The benefit for the new-hire is that promised increased job satisfaction (and safety). The benefit for the mentor is $50 Tremendous.com credit and $25 Hogan Company Store credit for each new hire they work with.
